Tempasuk Trip!

catch of the day, all the snakehead being release to fei's uncle pond for rehabilitation.

After for a while i didn't had chance to cast along with my friend at kota belud... finally this trip had given us chance to cast together... myself, fei & jifat... had made upthis trip located at the small river of "Kampung Tempasuk" we started at 4:30 pm & ended at 7:00 pm... 1st cast for jifat had given him a small snakehead, with his yozuri altima spoon... i try out my Berkley Powerbait soft plastic, although the water a bit muddy but i try to find luck with it... almost snag twice my soft plastic and the muddy water, i reach back my Bomber Bushwhacker (green+white) and cast it out... the 1 st cast & run for the bomber bushwhacker had been strike hard from a large snakehead! but the fight only last few seconds after the snakehead made attempt for run the hook had release... fuhh... what a huge snakehead strike my spinnerbait, the frame had being straighten to the strike...
again i try my luck at the edge of the river and this time a solid hook up from a small snakehead.. i put it in the pail fei brought along for releasing at his uncle pond. then within minutes i had another strike, 2nd one and almost the same size of the 1st one... also with the bomber bushwhacker... after that, fei got his snakehead to the tally of our catch, also the same size of our snakehead landed. fei caught this 1 with his hybrid theory which consist of berkley powerbait 3" grub + booyah spinnerbait... after taking some photo with fei catch, i cast again... and this time i got a larger 1 snakehead... but when i try to pull out the hook, the frame of my bomber bushwhacker had snap at the hook point... uhhh... sad to see it, but i didn't feel bad because this spinnerbait had given me a lot of record to be told... maybe after several time being straighten by the huge snakehead the frame had crack and still after only i landed the fish its broken, if not the snakehead will be holding it at its mouth though... in this trip jifat had lost 2 of his bomber bushwhacker... sorry about it bro...
then i reach back my bomber bushwhacker (black colour) colorado blade to cast... after 3 cast, i got another strike! this time its larger than the previous i caught... after weighting it, the weight of the snakehead reach 800 grm... the body is long but the size of its body is very thin... after that we finish our trip for the day... 6 snakehead cuaght & also all release to fei's uncle pond for rehabilitation... good results for our trip today! wait for our next trip...!

Hybrid Berkley Powerbait + Bomber Bushwhacker!

today i went back to the pond as my usual port... this time i try the combination of hybrid Berkley Powerbait Soft Plastic + Bomber Bushwhacker... i got strike but this time only the small 1 taken strike of the hybrid i used... but the Berkley Powerbait soft plastic was lost in action after the snakehead strike! i also try my luck again with the bomber bushwhacker with colorado blade and black colour... after several cast through the pond, suddenly i saw a rise by the edge of the pond... i cast over the spot and retrieve it pass through the rise area... 1 cast... 2 cast... 3 cast... 4 cast... 5 cast... and finally the snakehead strike after 6 cast at the spot... the fight was good... i take 2-3 minutes to land the snakehead... i weighted it with my grip and finally it's heavier a bit from the last 1 i caught on monday! only 0.05 kg heavier... now my new set record was 1.95 kg! i brought it back because my friend had requested from me the snakehead for medical purposes... before i landed the small snakehead with the hybrid combination, i also had similar strike when i first got my 1.41 kg snakehead in my home town... try it out... the hybrid combination got a lot more advance with the Berkley Powerbait attach on... ;o)

After few days of catching the snakehead at my usual port, i turn back and try it again there... the water is still muddy... i first use the soft plastic, but the swimming of the soft plastic was not visible to the snakehead due to the muddy water inside the pond... then i try the bomber bushwhacker green colour... still no sign of the snakehead striking the spinnerbait... i put it back and for the last time i try the bomber bushwhacker black colour... this 1 never got any strike yet... after few cast through the pond... a man came to me and asking if i got any yet... his name also LIM, he also use the spinnerbait and never got any snakehead from it... while chatting with him suddenly my spinnerbait got strike! this time it was a huge fight through in water... and Lim was fascinate with the strike, he help me pull up the snakehead and i weighted it... wow! nearly 2 kg... 1.9 kg of snakehead! this is the largest 1 i ever caught... and also set my new record of snakehead. Lim helping me on taking photo and after that i released the snakehead back to the pond, the snakehead tummy was fat, and i think its going to lay out its fries anytime... hopefully the snakehead survive and grow more for the future... i also set that this evening if i caught any snakehead i would release it back, no matter how it be, i want the snakehead to grow more and populate more for the future! Practice Catch & Release so we could save for our future and caught more of these snakehead in huge size!
