Catch After Catch... with berkley powerbait soft plastic!

today, i went out again to the pond inside the palm estate of my friend... i didnt saw any much rise from the snakehead, but since i was already there, i gave it a try... maybe the snakehead just becoming short in numbers inside the pond... i cast out my berkley powerbait lure with the inline spinner to the rises of the snakehead... after a lot of cast, i finally got strike! but the snakehead just ripped off my berkley 3" grub tail... leaving it with only half of the tail... emmm... still can be used... then i cast again to the same spot, after 2 cast, i got a good strike, the snakehead just strike it and try to speed away, the strike happen just about 1 meter from my spot... only a small 1... but very though this small 1... i then capture some photo and then release it back to the pond... PRACTICE CATCH & RELEASE for our future !!!

this short casting time i done on last saturday... just trying to check the spot if its still had snakehead within the area... and showed up was a small snakehead catching my hybrid lure... still have some snakehead here, but the spot was always interrupted by others which using net to catch all the fish here... if this be going on for a long time... i can sure, no more fish around the small river near my wife village... very sad to see such a condition... PLEASE CATCH & RELEASE FOR OUR FUTURE...

my second catch yesterday...

1st catch... ouch... the snakehead move a lot until its hurt...

1st catch trying to break loose after striking my berkley grub...

Today i follow a friend to a pond of his at Kg Donsom Kota Marudu... 1st we went to the pond that are full of plankton inside it... i saw the scene, and could see many snakehead popping at water, but not in the sight of our casting area... i cast out my flying frog... only once a small sizes of snakehead trying to catch the lure... there are huge snakehead there but, maybe next time...

we went to the other pond about 5 minutes walk from the 1st pond... this time my friend, also called Lim, got 2 strike... 1st the snakehead got loose... then the 2nd also got loose... from the bait his using i ask him to change it to the smaller 1... the berkley powerbait 3' grub... i also change my set to the berkley powerbait 3" grub... 1st the fire tiger colour being strike about 2 meter away from my post... small 1, but trying to get loose with the catch in its mouth... the 2nd catch i use the hybird of Berkley Powerbait 3" grub + the Ofmer inline spinner... this time the snakehead also strike and trying to pull away the grub + inline... oh... maybe its hungry and scared of other snakehead would take away its meal... i landed it in and smaller than the 1st one... we stop our casting at 6 pm... the area are getting darker because we are inside a palm estate... maybe next time i will go back to the weedy pond in search for the largest snakehead of Borneo!

After few months without any catch in my home ground Kota Belud, finally today i catch 1 snakehead with the so called "flying frog" lure... only by second cast i got these 600 gram of snakehead... a sudden buusss! of the strike and the snakehead trying to get loose by swimming to the snaggy area, i control it by lifting my rod high... and the snakehead was landed safely... half of the lure were swallen by the snakehead... but i successfully got it out within time...

after the strike, my friend Cikgu Edaffi @ jifat, got a bonus catch with a spesies of GOBY fish... this spesies were very rare to strike on lures... but good catch too from jifat!

Snakehead of Pitas...!

this catch had ripped off my berkley powerbait grub from the jighead...

only small catch today... this are the 3rd catch.

this one are the largest out of the 3 snakehead i caught using berkley powerbait
3" grub today...

not the size of the Baitcaster set, but surely a good catch too!

Pitas, another district within my region of working area still had a lot of spot for these snakehead... here in Pitas i still didn't saw any anglers yet using soft lure like Soft Plastic... maybe for hard lures already there's somebody using it here... but very rare to see anyone catching these snakehead with artificial lure. i stop by 3 spot and catch these 3 snakehead. 1st are a earth drain that ponding up and not flowing... 1 strike from a large snakehead, but it got loose away! feww... what a waste... then coma a strike, after the 1st 1... but the tiny snakehead can pull away the inline spinner + berkley powerbait SP that i retrieve slowly... good try, but i landed it easily...

after lunch break, i try back the spot at a bridge that i had try before this early year... the water are good, but it just wont make my day here, the water are flowing fast because of the tide from the sea level... i lost 1 jig head with berkley SP grub & 1 inline spinner + berkley grub here... maybe next time would be my day... i will be back here...

on way going back to my office at Kota Marudu, i stop by a medium size pond by the road side to try my luck here... there are many rises of the snakehead, i only use my jig head with grub here... about 10 minutes of casting i got a hrad strike of the berkley powerbait grub... then i strike back after 3-5 second... the size of the snakehead are a bit larger from the 1st one i got at the morning cast. then i cast back to the next side of the pond... this time i presented the berkley powerbait SP with jerk & pause... only 2 jerk & pause i then got another strike! these snakehead here just wont bare to see anything moving around its area... gratefully i didnt gave it much time to swim into snaggy part of the pond, if not i will surely be losing another jig head...

after this catch from Pitas, i will arrange another trip to Pitas again. this time i will be trying all the spot i've seen in Pitas! wait for another magic & catch from the berkley powerbait! i will be grateful to announce that the BERKLEY POWERBAIT soft plastic are very effective for casting trip! make sure you all had 1 of these soft plastic in your casting trip! latest catch from my baitcaster set!

After few days without any catch, finally today my luck is back! i just going back to some of the natural habitat of the snakehead as alos my usual port... my target are practising the baitcaster reel... after i cast the whole stretch of the earth drain, suddenly my bomber bushwhacker got strike! i guess it already, its a small 1... but good enough to made my day complete with the catch, my bomber lure also not getting any catch for a while after this catch!
perfect catch but almost drop the snakehead back to the water if i'm not getting it out quickly from the water, the shaking from the snakehead just when landed on soil had detach the hook of the bomber lure from its mouth... ffuuhhh... just in time... if not i will not getting any photo from it... wait for my next catch!
