for most of the time i've been using the berkley powerbait soft plastic and it doesn't let me down with its power scent and the swimming motion of it in the water to attract the predators to strike it! from grub to minnow to gulp, every 1 of it has its own presentation as well as the scent... T-TAIL MINNOW also gave me a lot of excitement, where up to today i already catch more than 5 snakehead with just 1 single of the T-TAIL MINNOW... rigging it to the jig head hook from owner brand, i cast it out to wnere the spot of the snakehead usually spotted... the snagless of the hook with the berkley powerbait SP gave me more chance to trick and hook up these snakehead predators...

After some catch at this spot, i try again and the outcome was really exiciting.. where the snakehead here keep on entertaining from 500 gram sizes to the smallest 1 around my thumb size... this is really a good spot... and every catch i get from this spot, i already release it 100 % back to this spot... just on today, i finally got strike from the large snakehead here... twice i cast and twice it strike... only luck i didnt bring it up and not a solid hook up with the snakehead...

with this berkley powerbait soft plastic, the lure could be used agian and again... true, i had used a single grub for about up to 10 catch and its still can be cast again and catching those snakehead...

this port i found around kota marudu area... this port are safe from any disturbing people which would had netted all the fish or even poisoned the pond or water way... after few attempt on this very happening port... i catch various sizes of the snakehead & also in various weight of the snakehead there... only i still didnt catch the king snakehead there... from the smallest as my thumb size to the 500 gram size... all the snakehead are a good fighter! these wild snakehead could make you shock with its strike... almost drop my rod once when i use the top water lure, the strike was sudden and the fight of the snakehead are coragiuos, but its loose when i try to hang it up out of the water...

lure i've been using now, consist of very much the BERKLEY POWERBAIT soft plastic. these plastic lure had given me more catch and more excitement during my snakehead hunting. other is the spinnerbait, lure, top water lure... even now i'm getting good results with the combination of the inline spinner + BERKLEY POWERBAIT soft plastic. the jerking and spinning of the inline given the attractant become more and the cost of mixing 1 is cheap... so we might not be very sad if the lure is snag or snap off... all the snakehead at this port i release after my casting session... 100 % of catch & release!

after a good rest at home kota belud... me and my wife going out to the spot just minute drive from my home... i cast out the top water lure... few minutes just nothing would like to take it... after i change my casting spot, then i got a strike just as the lure reach the water... bbuuusss! the snakehead strike on the lure, this time 1 st strike 1 st hook up for the lure! i quickly retrieve it back before the snakehead getting inside the snaggy area around the pond... i reach my wife and the photo was taken by her... this is the 1st time the lure got strike! after that only some few strike on the lure and no more catch... before going back home, i release back the snakehead to its natural habit... another record for my lure today!

After the Boyd pond trip... i try back the regular spot i've been casting for... this time, i use the Berkley Powerbait Grub 2" charteuse colour... the colour of the water is a bit muddy after some rain fall an hour before... the spinnerbait is not in range of the snakehead view after a few throw out the water... then i rig my berkley powerbait and threw it to the spot where some snakehead rises... only the 1 st cast i got strike, but no hook up.. then the 2nd cast also got strike! this time i let it bite more on the lure... then with a soft stirke i hook up a small snakehead... solid hook up at its mouth... this is another achivement on the berkley powerbait i've been using for my casting...

After arranging several times with my friend Boyd, finally i get back to his pond for a casting trip... its a half day oppurtunity for me as Boyd was clearing his pond area... i try out several lure, and my strike pro popper was strike by an unknown fish, which i think was Tarpon... several strike but no solid hook up with the fish... then we went to several other pond that surrounding the area, i reach out my berkley powerbait gulp, charteuse colour... then i cast out and only the first cast i manage to catch the 1 st snakehead... small 1 around 300 - 400 gram... the snakehead swallow in all the lure and the jig head... the second catch also the first cast after releasing my 1 fish out of hook... this time the snakehead also almost swallow all the soft plastic... then the pond become quite for a while, and no more catch or strike with the soft plastic... i look into my box, then i pick up my yozuri red head minnow. i cast out through the pond and the 3 rd cast had given a smile! a fish strike! when i retrieve back, the fish as i guest it was another snakehead, this time around 500 - 700 gram weight... what a record! my 1st fish hook up on lure! after that i try my bomber bushwhacker spinnerbait... hook up with some snakehead but all the hook up is not solid enough to bring the snakehead out of the water... we finish our session at 12 noon... and the fish i give it to the owner, my friend Boyd... hope i will go there again and try to cast the larger 1 and also the fish that strike my popper...

After for a long while i didn't catch any snakehead or fish with the soft plastic, finally i manage to catch 1... only a small and tiny 1 of snakehead. i landed this 1 at the estate area whereas the new port for me... after i saw some of the tiny one popping up the water, i cast out my berkley powerbait 2" grub... just the grub drop in the water, the tiny snakehead strike it, and try to took it away, i let it drift few second before i jerk a bit to hook up the tiny... after the photo shoot i quickly remove the worm hook and release it back to the water... hopefully it will grow larger...
