i try to cast for the snakehead again today, and after for a week of zero catch... finally i try out my new lure, strike king spinnerbait and plus a berkley powerbait spray of nightcrawler to make trace for the snakehead. for only about 5 cast i already got strike! and solid hook up let me smile again with the latest catch i had! the spray of scent had help me to make trace for the snakehead! after the photo shot, i cast again, and this time when i just retrieve the lure, the snakehead strike again, but this time its smaller than the 1st one... when i smell my lure, its still had the scent smell on it.. for both this catch i used the berkley powerbait spray scent! try it... and you'll love it when its come to your fishing trip rescue!

After yesterday trip, myself & Clay met again at Kota Marudu, and we are going cast for the snakehead again at Tandek area. the open earth drain was cleaned last week & saw some rise of the snakehead, but only some few small 1... this time Clay also got 2 catches! 1st & 2nd catch almost the same spot... only this spot had being netted for almost evereyday from its clearing cycle here... very sad to saw some net around the area, which are trying to catch all of the fish here! Please everyone, practice CATCH & RELEASE for our future! if not all the fish of our native will be going extinct!

This trip was arrange earlier to search for the snakehead species of Kota Belud. this trip was attended by caster from Labuan / Mizlan, Kota Marudu / Clay, Kota Belud & Kota Marudu / myself, Kota Belud / Jifat / Fei / Kenny / Donald. but, only 4 of us are casting from morning to evening. 4 port of potential snakehead being covered to search for the species... only Clay & Jifat got both 2 catches, others include myself were only got strike and no hook up! the wheater are quite challenging, the water of the spot were almost all of it in muddy colour... but the trip are not just casting for snakehead, but to know each other and exchanging tips of fishing, especially for our senior caster, Jifat... all catch are using berkley powerbait soft plastic, except the first catch from jifat are using the mazzy frog, from japan... by casting we already get more friends and this such trip would be arrange again in the future to gather more caster & friend around. all the snakehead catch were release back to its own habitat for future, hopefully after this we will all be in a group & going places for casting again! thanks to Clay & Mizlan for coming to Kota Belud to done this trip!

after yesterday i miss out a snakehead after an acrobatic limp out of the water, finally i stop by at the port today and try again at almost the same spot, then after few cast, i finally got strike! this time its solid hook up with the small snakehead... finally got another catch with the flying frog... then i saw so many people wondering around the area, they carrying net, they fix their net and also do some netting along the small darin... very sad to see almost all the fish there were already going zero quantity... sad to see it... i release the snakehead at a spot that are less people netting... hopefully the snakehead grow larger and populate more...

I was trying the berkley powerbait Grub, black colour yesterday. and its also good for these snakehead. when the water are muddy, or the colour are dark in chocolate, we can use the black grub of berkley powerbait. these grub will definately show good eye sight for the snakehead to attack on the SP... the water can be horrible after rain... try to use the berkley powerbait in different ways, you'll find it more interesting! and even catch more fish!

today, i went out again to the pond inside the palm estate of my friend... i didnt saw any much rise from the snakehead, but since i was already there, i gave it a try... maybe the snakehead just becoming short in numbers inside the pond... i cast out my berkley powerbait lure with the inline spinner to the rises of the snakehead... after a lot of cast, i finally got strike! but the snakehead just ripped off my berkley 3" grub tail... leaving it with only half of the tail... emmm... still can be used... then i cast again to the same spot, after 2 cast, i got a good strike, the snakehead just strike it and try to speed away, the strike happen just about 1 meter from my spot... only a small 1... but very though this small 1... i then capture some photo and then release it back to the pond... PRACTICE CATCH & RELEASE for our future !!!

this short casting time i done on last saturday... just trying to check the spot if its still had snakehead within the area... and showed up was a small snakehead catching my hybrid lure... still have some snakehead here, but the spot was always interrupted by others which using net to catch all the fish here... if this be going on for a long time... i can sure, no more fish around the small river near my wife village... very sad to see such a condition... PLEASE CATCH & RELEASE FOR OUR FUTURE...
