Saving Snakehead !

As usual i'm trying out my regular spot today. after realizing the spot were in shallow water, i use my flying job to try tackling some snakehead there. yet, only the 3rd cast, a fierce snakehead came out from its hiding and strike my lure!
after bringing it in, i notice that the lure had been swallowed in all of it! i try and slowly remove the hook from inside, luckily after a long hard trying to detached it, finally its safe and i quickly return it to the water, another good catch and good practice of catch & release!

Today, although i had 2 catch of snakehead, but i was failed again fighting the larger one there. on another strike, the snakehead just swim away pulling out my lure, and yet the hook was loose from its mouth... maybe another day will the snakehead be caught on my lure. this 2 catches 1st of 800 - 900 gram, and the 2nd catch only 400 - 500 gram.
hope next time i will get the large snakehead there...

Small Size, But Very Entertaining !!!

Today i didn't had any other spot to visit. i go back to the spot in the estate. this time the water are dark brown, but still manage to see a bit in the water. i use my newly opened bomber bushwhacker colorado blade. the lower side didn't had any sign.
then i go up to the upper side of the drain. this time 4 snakehead was landed within 30 minutes of my casting. all the snakehead were in small size, but gave me entertaining fight too! the largest only about 400 - 500 gram.
i release all the snakehead back to the spot safely. hopefully it will grow larger and populate more inside the drain.

As i was only had a little time, i cast at the safe spot. this time the water are very low, maybe the tide had just driven out the water. but never mind, just want to try and see if any of the snakehead still waiting to strike.
only my 2nd cast today, the snakehead take out the lure just as the lure reach the water. bbuuusss!!!! it just came from down the weedy spot. a gruelsome fight and i quickly take photo of the snakehead and release it back. its another quick and fast catch from me....

Today i visited the spot where the flying job was a hot stuff. i use my regular flying frog today. just only the 3rd cast, a sudden pop came striking my lure! a good size of snakehead jump out from water with my lure securely hook up in its lip.
after taking photo of the catch, i release it back, and hopefully this spot will keep on breeding more fish stock without vanishing from human error...

3rd strike and 1st catch! 1.0 kg mark.

Today, as i cast usual with my inline lure, to my surprise a lerga size of snakehead had encounter my lure and strike it! it jumps high twice to loose the hook, but only after the 2nd fall, the snakehead had loosen it with the split ring and the wormhook. what a size of snakehead it was, if its landed in, i can bet it will reach a 2.0 kg mark !!!

then afterwards, no more strike, until i cast again at the same spot, to my surprise too, this time another larger snakehead strike! this time its swimming to the left & right. only maybe today its not my luck, just when we try to pull it out from the water, the snakehead was loose, only saw its mouth...

then after that, i cast for a while and catch another 1.0 kg mark. short after that i ended the casting session with a 2 - 1 of loosing to the snakehead today...

I went back to the spot of Pitas today, with hope that i could catch any of those snakehead there. i put back on my inline spinner which was presenting me with numerous huge catch. i cast at the same spot and up a bit to the upstream. then i got a knock to my lure, double strike had me strike back to fight! then came up a 1.0 kg mark of snakehead! another record was set again for a kilo mark!
then afterwards, i only got several miss strike. i cast again at the same spot and got another small one.
i went slowly casting back towards my starting spot. then when i was casting slowly at an edge, suddenly a strike came in hard, then then snakehead was going to left and right with numerous shake to loose my lure, i try to hold the fight, but then it was loose and when i see my lure, the hook was opened and the split ring was almost pulled to stretch. it was a huge one, surely it does with the condition of my lure.
i change the worm hook and cast again, then i manage to catch a medium size of 700 gram to the mark! i ended my cast after the 3rd catch. this spot will be in my hot spot list for a long time...
