Today, i visited the spot both again. this time i went to the weedy spot 1st. but the water there were drowning fast as the current was not suitable for casting.

i drove back to the spot of snakehead heaven. this time i'm using back my black bomber colorado blade. cast about half an hour when i suddenly got strike as i retrieve the lure. good strike that trying to swim into the side of the drain... not that way snakehead, i landed it in & quickly photo it before releasing it back to the spot.

at the lower part of the drain, i try cast my flying frog there, only when its reaches the water, a quick strike pull in my lure, i tighten my line and reel in. it was a snakehead by the size of the lure, what a fierce one trying to get the lure. i release it back into the larger drain, so it can have more space to get bigger!

the catch of the day!

Today, i went back to see if the spot could give me some catches of snakehead. This time when i was passing from the upper side of the drain, i saw some snakehead was floating, die! from the spot i didn't see any unsual side efffect of the water, but other fish also died at almost 20 meter of the stretch.

then i quickly rush to the other side of the drain, my hope were coming through, the other part of the drain didn't effect by the up stream condition, maybe its about the water last week there, the colour was dark green, and smelly like some poison tank was washed inside it. or maybe some people trying to get some catch in time & do much damage there, but i still cannot assumed which was the exact condition happening there.

then i cast from the down stream of the drain, this time few strike from the smaller snakehead keep coming, but no hook up. then about only 45 minutes, when i saw a rise to my right, i quickly cast behind it and retrieve back the lure on the rise side. then i standby for the strike, this time then snakehead was there, and give a strike hard on the lure, finally my wait was paid off with a 500 - 600 gram of snakehead. i release it bac to the drain to keep maintaining the fish stock there.

then i went to another spot, this time the used of my flying frog was in duty. only for 3rd cast i manage to lure out a tiny snakehead & the strike was solid and pulled it up to detached the hook. after taking photo, i quickly rush back to the drain to release it back. its 2 catches today from different spot!

i stop by the spot today, and i only plan to cast for 30 minutes. i put on my hottest lure and cast, only about 10 minutes later i suddenly got a strike! good & powerful strike too, the snakehead try to go in the side of the drain, but i manage to pulled it back out & landed it in.

for 30 minutes only, a snakehead was catch & release !!!

the most wanted lure & most effective for snakehead,
BOMBER BUSHWHACKER SPINNERBAIT !

Today, i repeat back the same spot. But this time i repeated it from the opposite side of the drain. Since i got good results from the lower side, i want to catch if any of the snakehead were staying on the upper side of the drain.

As usual, i use my hottest lure for the spot, the BOMBER BUSHWHACKER SPINNERBAIT. and only for 3 cast, i got a strike, but only a tiny one trying to deal mya lure. then the 2nd strike came just about 5 minutes later, this time its a larger one to the 1st. Be patient, that's the motto to succed. Then i moved a bit forward, and i cast back to the upper side, only by the 2nd time the lure cross a weedy area, suddenly a huge strike came in. i hold my set and let it bite. surely this is another big one today. i quickly landed it in and the size was good, measuring about 500 - 600 gram. what a size from just a small drain.

after photo shoot, i quickly release it back, and hopefully to catch it back again next time around.

Today i went back to the same spot yesterday. this time i've tried various type of lure. 1st with Soft Plastic, but no response from the snakehead there. then i tried the inline spinner + Soft Plastic, yet i got several strike but no hook up. then i tried also my top water lure, just the snakehead there doesn't seems to like the top water.

finally i put on the bomber bushwhacker of green & yellow skirt with leaf blade. my 1st cast was taken fiercely with a good size of snakehead! when its landed, i only can say its a 400 - 500 gram of weight. i release it back to the drain after i finish my casting there. what a good spot to cast, hopefully it will not be attack again by those fish hunter which will zero out the fish stock there...

Today, i went back to a spot, which are in the palm estate area. the spot i've been cast from the other end before, but this time i cast it from the other end of the drain.

on first sight i saw few of the snakehead rises. i cast about 15 minutes, and within the 15 minutes, i got 3 strike loose... fuuhhh, what a miss! then i stay on the spot patiently, finally my patient paid off with the 1st solid strike! the snakehead came twice to take the lure.

on the 2nd snakehead, after detached the hook from the 1st, i cast just to check my lure again, to my shock, i got a huge strike! zzzeeeettttt... my line was taken for about 1 meter out! what a good size & strength... i didn't wait long to land it in. it was a larger 1, about 700 to 800 gram... what a luck today!

then the 3rd catch only came after 5 minutes from the 2nd catch, this time the snakehead take the lure & try to make a run towards the side of the drain, i control it and quickly landed it in. also the size of the 1st snakehead...

what a day & luck for me today! then i cast again, hoping to catch another 1 of the snakehead, this time i already set to release it wheter its big or not. to my surprise too, another strike came in just about another 8 minutes, this time its really a small 1 only, i quickly release it back to the drain, hope it would grow bigger to fight another day!

i am very surprise to see such a spot would provide a good result of casting, this spot i would not review to others that would have go there & finish the spot. only caster that i believe in i would take them to this spot.

As usual today, i went to several spot with clay, this time he's in Kota Marudu and the same time we cast together.

on 1 spot, i catch a small 1 with my bomber bushwhacker lure, just small & be release it back to let it grew as well as populate more on the spot. on the next spot, i just loose to a larger 1... only fight for a few second and the snakehead was free loose, maybe its not a solid hook up...

then its clay turn to pick up the catch of the day! the most rewarded caster today, clay... he's very satisfied with the 500 gram catch today. still the "KUMPAU" curse had been cured away.

After a bad trip from the membakut toman casting trip, today i fought back to take my lure with fish again, and the target are as usual, snakehead.

A trip i arrange shortly after back to Kota Belud with Fei, were reply in turn with a YES! we went to the new port Fei discovered in his girlfriend village.

This time the killer lure were the Seahawk Mini Frog. where they got before with several 1.0 kg above of catch. i used my only 1 lure of seahawk. the spot were full of top water weeds. the lure was perfect, because the snakehead here never seen such lure being used to catch them. after an hour of casting, i still dont had any strike, until i saw Fei's girlfriend brother got a catch with a 1.3 kg mark of snakehead. i quickly got to the spot and take some photo. then i cast around the spot with hope for a catch. suddenly for the 2nd cast, my lure were taken fiercely! 1st strike miss! and the snakehead come again with the 2nd, this time feel weight on my line and yes! its a solid hook up! i fight the snakehead until the edge. the snakehead was a 1.1 kg mark! after fininshing photo with fei, we release it back to the water so it will grew bigger and didnt extinct there. what a good spot for the lure which i bought last year... few... a good results again!

Today another catch from the safe spot. i stop by for only a while to cast. and with no strike from my top water flying frog, i change to the bomber bushwhacker lure. 1st cast 1st strike, the snakehead almost loose by a narrow strike only, but i manage to land it in.

for the future, this spot are good for preserving our fish stock... practice catch and release!

Today, the 3rd day i'm going back to the safe spot. this time only for about 1 hour only. the water colour are getting greener due to maybe some chemical tank being wash inside the drain. but still the snakehead are rising, only lesser today.

i got the 1st catch by a corner edge of a weedy area, as i knew this snakehead would hide under it and strike when chance come. the tiny 1 only weight about 200 - 300 gram. i quickly release it back after detached the hook.

then only after few minutes, i got another strike! this time its larger than the 1st catch. it weight around 300 - 400 gram only. as usual, i am releasing it back just after the hook detached. this spot are good enough if there are no netting or other type of catching fish to zero...
